Holiday Hair stylist Corinne Dunne has proven that it’s never too late to transition to a career you love. After working in fast food management for 9 years, at the advice of her father, she finally took the plunge to make her hobby and passion for hair a full time career!
After earning her cosmetology license, Corinne fine-tuned her skills at Great Clips and Smart Style before being recruited to work at the Holiday Hair in Wind Gap, Pennsylvania.
“Even though Corinne just started with us in September 2023, she has already been doing a great job of promoting her business and working hard towards her goals – positively impacting herself, the salon, and the company,” said Liz Kohler, Corinne’s Territory Leader.
Corinne appreciates the way doing hair connects her with people and her local community. She enjoys getting to know her clients, establishing meaningful relationships with them that are mutually rewarding. She recalled a particular client who struggled with a cancer diagnosis, and had come to Corinne for a haircut after her hair had grown back in. Corinne, who was also dealing with health issues during this time, found an authentic connection and mutual comfort with this particular customer. In fact, she even helped this customer cut and style her wigs to boost her confidence during this difficult time.
“I think being an ear to listen to for our customers is important,” she said.
When she’s not behind the chair, Corinne attends school where she is working on a B.A. in Business, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. She currently is maintaining a 4.0 GPA while working and being a single mom of her 12 year old son, and her 11 year old nephew, who she recently started to care for. She hopes to continue to advance her career in the salon industry after she graduates.
