Brenda Quinn is a seasoned hairstylist with a career spanning over four decades. After graduating from cosmetology school in 1980, Brenda began working for the Holiday Hair-branded salon in West Virginia, where she has been ever since.
Brenda’s passion for hairstyling began early in life. At the age of 11, she discovered her knack for hairdressing, initiating her career by performing her first perm on friends. Little did she know this early experimentation would lay the foundation for her future as the renowned “perm queen” at Holiday Hair.
For her, the salon isn’t just a workplace. She credits teamwork, her colleagues, customers, and her manager, Melissa, as core reasons for her success and longevity in the industry.
Like many stylists, clients often become like family, with close-knit bonds forming over the years. This sentiment was never more evident than when one of her long-term clients extended a gesture of support during Brenda’s daughter’s challenging medical journey.
Brenda emphasized the importance of humility and continuous learning when asked about her advice for aspiring stylists. “Always ask for help,” she said, recognizing that the learning curve in this field is ongoing. Even seasoned stylists, she notes, can learn from their newer colleagues.
When she’s not at the salon, Brenda enjoys caring for her two grandchildren.
